Berlin-based Rolando Random & The Young Soul Rebels are not only so far behind the trend in terms of their name that they are already at the forefront again: They combine the British punk snot of the late 70s with extremely danceable ska, reggae and mestizo rhythms. You can tell from their likeable stage presence that these guys have been in the business for a long time and have a lot of fun themselves. Wide-legged, irreverent and with a lot of self-irony, they play their way through the varied program. And then there are those choruses that always invite you to shake your fists and sing along at the top of your voice… Im in the mood for a riot, baby!
Rolando Random & The Young Soul Rebels were founded in Berlin in the summer of 2002. The 7 musicians are no strangers to many ska and punk concertgoers: they play and have played with Mothers Pride, Yummy, The Pillocks, Madlocks and Blechreiz, among others. However, they have long since gained their own fan base and even made it to the much sought-after position as support act for Madness in the summer of 2006. Their debut album “Hidden Pleasures” was released by moanin’ records in 2005. In 2008, the second album “Fistful of courage” was finally released on Bad Dog Records. In October 2019, the band released their first 7° single on Rec Sin. The release of at least one more 7° and a longplayer is planned for 2020.
